I chose 8, because of the simple colour scheme, the unbiased opinions of the writers and the overall tone of the site. i also love how much of an outlet this is for all the members. An ingenius idea.

It's simple but very nice. Nice colour scheme and a little something that keeps the user coming back.

Negative first so I can end positively:
[*]In my opinion, the boards number too many. Slimming them down (e.g. using 'Poetry' for poetry contests) makes it easier to browse the forum and keep up... Not to mention low-res users will have to scroll endlessly to get to the general board and whatnot.
[*]The colour scheme is, also in my opinion, too clashy. The greens on charcoal look nice, but the purples don't fit so well. =p

Positive:
[*]Although I mentioned too many boards, I must admit that everything I can think of is covered.
[*]It's a minimal touch, but I like the fact that the general board is on the bottom. It's not the focus of the forum, after all. Kudos to you.
[*]The lack of silly things such as buttons for the toolbar up top is good stuff.

EDIT: Uhm. Purples. Not orange. I was spacing. Orange appears 4 times total on the front page...
